2019-12-05. Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara held a press conference this morning during which he announced a mandatory 1-year moratorium on insurance non-renewals for California residents who were affected by recent wildfires in 2019.
NOTE: El Dorado County is not included in the mandatory moratorium. But Commissioner Lara requested that insurance companies voluntarily implement a 1-year moratorium on non-renewals for all California policy holders.
